Trevor Cameron, a rising young coach with experience in collegiate athletics, esports leadership, and game-day operations, was announced in October 2024 as the first head women’s flag football coach in King University history. Cameron was selected to build the program from the ground up, bringing energy, organization, and a strong developmental background to the newest addition to King Athletics.
In the program’s inaugural season in 2026, Cameron led King to a 4–10 record and a berth in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, marking a successful launch for a first-year program. The Tornado earned several milestone victories throughout the season and advanced to postseason play before falling to Lees-McRae in the opening round. Under Cameron’s leadership, King produced immediate individual success, highlighted by three First Team All-Conference selections—Alyssa Ramos (WR, DB) and Caroline Small (LB)—and one Second Team honoree, center Hailey Mescall. Ramos also delivered one of the most complete freshman seasons in the nation, earning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year.
Cameron arrived at King following four years on staff at Milligan University, where he served as a student assistant and graduate assistant from 2020–24. During the 2023–24 season, Milligan posted the best record in program history at 9–8, earning wins over Point University (twice), Life University, and Baker College. His responsibilities included player development, practice planning, administrative support, and program operations—experience that prepared him to lead a collegiate program of his own.
In addition to his coaching background, Cameron spent the summer of 2023 working as a Box Office Intern with the Elizabethton River Riders, gaining valuable experience in event management, customer service, and athletic operations. While at Milligan, he earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management and exercise science, graduating with a 3.0 GPA, and is currently pursuing graduate studies. Cameron also competed on the Milligan esports team and served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, demonstrating leadership both in competition and within the athletic department.
As the architect of King’s first women’s flag football program, Cameron has established a strong foundation built on player development, academic success, and competitive growth. His early achievements signal a promising future for the Tornado as the sport continues to expand across the collegiate landscape.
