Scot Hundt joined the King University men's basketball coaching staff in August 2024.

A native of Punta Gorda, Florida, Hundt came to King after serving as an assistant coach and Director of Operations at Loras College. In that role, he managed team travel arrangements, coordinated strength and conditioning programs, broke down game film, and developed scouting reports to assist with game preparation.

Prior to his coaching career, Hundt was a standout collegiate player at Reinhardt University, where he played under current King head coach George "G" Gillespie. After three seasons at Reinhardt, Hundt transferred to Mississippi College, where he competed for three years and served as a team captain during his final two seasons.

Hundt brings a strong understanding of player development, team operations, and program management to the Tornado coaching staff. His experience as both a student-athlete and coach has provided him with valuable insight into building successful programs and developing student-athletes on and off the court.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Hundt has worked numerous basketball camps throughout his career, including Nike Elite Camps in 2016, 2017, and 2018. He has also gained professional event-management experience through his work with Atlanta Event Specialists, where he assisted with events involving the PGA Tour and TopGolf.

Hundt earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Mississippi College in May 2019.

"We are excited that Coach Hundt has decided to join our coaching staff," Gillespie said. "He played for me during my time at Reinhardt University and also has NCAA Division II playing experience at Mississippi College. Last year, he was an assistant coach for a very successful NCAA Division III program at Loras College. I am extremely confident that he will be a positive addition not only to our basketball staff, but to King University as well."

"I am really excited to be joining the King basketball program," Hundt said. "I am looking forward to coaching with Coach G after playing for him in college. We have a great group of guys, and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together."
