Ricky Sexton was appointed as Event Management Graduate Assistant at King University in August 2026, joining the athletics department with a strong background in exercise science, athlete development, and organizational leadership. Sexton brings valuable experience in event operations, customer service, and team collaboration—skills that make him a versatile asset to King’s event management team.
In his role, Sexton supports the planning, coordination, and execution of athletic events for King University, working closely with coaches, administrators, and student-athletes to ensure smooth and successful game-day operations. He utilizes his background in exercise science and hands-on experience from private coaching to assist with event logistics, facility setup, and on-site problem solving. Sexton’s attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to service help create a positive experience for participants and spectators alike.
Sexton’s previous experience includes over 150 hours of observation in outpatient physical therapy clinics, where he developed strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills by supporting patient care and clinic operations. As a private soccer coach, he designed individualized training programs and fostered athlete development, further honing his leadership and motivational abilities. Sexton has also served as a receptionist in both wellness and legal environments, where he managed scheduling, client service, and daily operations with professionalism and attention to detail.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Sexton graduated from King University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2026 and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration. A Conference Carolinas Fall Academic All-Conference honoree and Provost’s List recipient, he is dedicated to excellence in academics and athletics. Sexton’s blend of event management skills, leadership, and athlete-centered experience make him an important member of the King University athletics department.
