Hill joined the Tornado coaching staff prior to the 2019-20 season as the recruiting coordinator.

Year-by-Year Season Recaps

2024: After dropping their first seven games of the season, the Tornado set offensive records in their first home series, as they swept Davis & Elkins, including a 23-0 win that was part of a five-game win streak. On April 20, the Tornado narrowly topped #25 UNC Pembroke 2-1, the first win over a nationally-ranked team since April 12, 2021 when they won 4-2 over North Greenville. King would close the season earning the 10 seed in the Conference Carolinas tournament, but fell to Belmont Abbey in the first round of the tournament.

2023: Playing the deepest conference in the country, King finished 15-31 overall and 5-23 in Conference Carolinas. The Tornado started the season 6-0, their best start since 2008. King closed their home slate with a conference sweep of Chowan. Drew Moore was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas and second team All-Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

2022: The Tornado finished the regular season with a 16-13 record in Conference Carolinas play, finishing sixth in the league standings. The Tornado won their opening game in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship, but dropped their next two to nationally ranked foes, ending their season with a 24-22 record. Drew Moore garnered first team All-Conference Carolinas honors while Robbie Scott earned second team recognition.

2021: Playing in one of the top conferences in the country, the Tornado went 14-24 overall and 11-20 in Conference Carolinas play. King finished seventh in the league standings and defeated Emmanuel in the first game of the conference tournament. During the regular season, the Tornado earned wins over third-ranked Mount Olive and 11th-ranked North Greenville. Drew Moore was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas while Austin Meyer garnered second team honors. Moore was also selected second team All-Southeast Region by the NCBWA and D2CCA. Bennett McCann garnered CoSIDA All-District recognition.

2020: The Tornado were off to a 15-9 and 7-2 in Conference Carolinas play start to the season before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Trader Flora was selected for the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Award for baseball while the 11 seniors garnered all-conference honors.

Prior to King

Most recently Hill was the head coach at Happy Valley High School, serving in that role since 2016. Over the six years Hill spent at Happy Valley, he coached four players that continued to sign and play collegiately. He also oversaw facility improvements and fundraisers for the baseball program.

Prior to his stint at Happy Valley, Hill spent six years as an assistant coach at Milligan College. Under his tutelage, the Buffaloes posted a .315 batting average and slugged .454 in five years. He also coached seven all-conference performers, including one that earned honorable mention All-America honors.

Hill got his start in coaching at Morristown-Hamblen High School East, where he coached for two years while coaching the Tennessee Thunder, members of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.

Personal

Hill earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Second Education Licensure in Mathematics from Milligan College in 2005. He then earned his Master of Arts of Education in Kinesiology, Leisure and Sports Studies from East Tennessee State University in 2008.
