Cox joined the Tornado staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 season and was named the interim head coach for track & field and cross country in November of 2022.

2022: King won their second straight Conference Carolinas title, edging Converse University and UNC Pembroke. Ashley Doyle earned first team All-Conference Carolinas accolades while Tea Troche-Jones, Emily Ward and Mandy Lowery earned second team honors and Morgan Whitley garnered third team recognition. Katy Neubert won the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 award for the second straight year and became the second Tornado athlete to win the Conference Carolinas Murphy Osborne award. She also garnered College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for the second straight year.

2022: King finished 11th at the Conference Carolinas Championship and 16th at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship. Mason Thomas, Jake Allison, Josh Booher, Jordan Keith, Jesus Pacheco all earned Academic All-Conference Carolinas.

Year-By-Year Highlights

2022-23: The Tornado finished seventh at both the indoor and outdoor Conference Carolinas Championships. Caitlin Paulins won the pole vault conference title in both the indoor and outdoor seasons as she garnered USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both seasons. Morgan Whitley also won an indoor conference title in the 5000 meters and finished runner-up in the 3000 meter steeple chase during the outdoor season. In the indoor conference meet, Whitley came in third in the 3000 meters and along with Paulins, Katy Neubert and Mandy Lowery, the Tornado came in third in the distance medley relay. Neubert also took third in the 800 meters in the outdoor meet. She garnered College Sports Communicators Acdemic All-District along with Samantha Jerrell and Ruthie Fripp. Neubert also became the second Tornado to win the Conference Carolinas Murphy Osborne award.

2022-23: King finished 11th at both the Conference Carolinas Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Kolin Miller led the way for the Tornado as he garnered USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the indoor season in the weight throw. He also finished second at the indoor conference championships in the weight throw. Jordan Keith and Jake Allison both earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District. Keith set the NCAA-era school record in the indoor 800 meters while Miller set a school record during the outdoor season in the discus.

Prior to King

She served as a personal trainer and group fitness coordinator at Bryan Glazer Family JCC (EXOS). She served as an assistant track & field coach at Tampa Catholic High School for one season and is a level 1 certified coach from USATF. While there, she coached the pole vault, springs, throws as well as other events. Along with running practices, Flook helped host track meets at Tampa Catholic High School.

Personal

Cox earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from North Greenville, where she competed in track & field in the mid distances, in 2018 before earning her Master of Science in Exercise and Nutritional Science in 2019 from the University of Tampa.
