After the conclusion of a brilliant playing career, Tom Winspearwill embark on his first coaching experience in 2012-13. He joinsthe Tornado men’s soccer program as a graduate assistantcoach in his first season outside of a playing uniform.
Last season as a team captain, Winspear led the Tornado with 15goals en route to becoming the College’s leading goal scorerin men’s soccer history. After the 2011 season, he was namedto the All-Conference First Team, All-Southeast Region First Team,and shared honors for top goal scorer in Conference Carolinasthrough King’s first season in the league.
As a freshman, Winspear was part of a Tornado team that won theAppalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Conference Championship andcontinued on to win the Regional Championship. He was named to theAll-Conference Second Team, that season.
Prior to joining King, Winspear played for the PremierDevelopment League’s Nashville Metro in the summer of2012.
Winspear graduate with his bachelor’s degree in bothmarketing and sport management from King in May 2012. He is workingtoward a master’s degree in business. He is a native of Yarm,England and currently lives in Bristol, Tenn.
