Kamm joined the King staff prior to the 2011-12 season and following a wealth of experience over 30 years of his professional and amateur golf career that he has used to steadily build the King University golf program to its status today. A former golfer on the Professional Golf Association (PGA) TOUR, Kamm has had success with both programs, sending individuals from each team to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships. Richard Powell was the first Tornado to qualify on the men's side in 2012-13 and Elizabeth Swallow became the first women to qualify in 2013-14.
The 2021-22 season was a memorable one for Kamm as the Tornado won their first Conference Carolinas championship, coming from behind to take the crown for the first time. King qualified for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional as a team for the first time, finishing 16th in the deepest field in the country. Under Kamm's tutelage, Samuel Trueba became the first Tornado to qualify for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship.

Year-By-Year Season Recaps
2022-23: King finished sixth at the Conference Carolinas Championship as Gustav Damgaard earned the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 award for men's golf. Åasmund Norum was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas.
2021-22: The Tornado won their first Conference Carolinas championship after trailing by nine strokes entering the final day. King trailed by seven strokes heading to the back nine and won the tournament by three strokes to clinch their first NCAA Tournament berth. Alex Bradford, Jeffery Perez, Åasmund Norum were all named to the all-tournament team while three Tornado were selected All-Conference Carolinas. Samuel Trueba earned first team honors, Bradford was named to the second team and Norum to the third team. King finished 16th at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship where Trueba finished third and qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship. Trueba then finished third, one stroke back at the national championship.
2020-21:Â In what was a different year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tornado played in three modified fall tournaments before participating five tournaments in the spring. King finished seventh at the conference championships with Alex Bradford earning third team all-conference honors.
2019-20: The year started well for the Tornado, winning the King Invitational on September 23-24 at the Golf Course of Bristol. The season was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic as the seniors were selected All-Conference Carolinas.
2018-19: The Tornado led the Conference Carolinas Championship after the first round, and ultimately finished sixth. Robert Wilkinson led the way with a sixth place finish. he was also selected Conference Carolinas Scholar Athlete of the Year. Wilkinson also garnered third team All-Conference Carolinas honors.
2017-18:Â The Tornado finished third at the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship. Earlier in the season, Alex Summer set the school record by shooting 62 at the King University Invitational
2016-17: King finished fifth at the conference championship, led by a pair of top 10 finishes from Arthitayapong Sripatrprasite and Robert Wilkinson. Sripatrprasite also garnered third team all-conference accolades.
2015-16: The Tornado finished fifth at the Conference Carolinas Championship and had two individuals earn all-conference honors. Leennawat Numpituckchaikul and Robert Wilkinson both earned all-conference recognition and each turned in a top-five finish on the season to lead the Tornado.
2014-15:Â A King University men's golfer won Conference Carolinas individual medalist honors for the first time in history. Under Kamm's tutelage, Ross Maietta carded rounds of 72-70-71 to finish with a three-round total of 213 to win the Conference Carolinas individual championship and lead King to a second place finish. Maietta's score of three-under gave him the championship by two strokes while the Tornado posted their best finish at the event. Earlier in the year, Leennawat Numpituckchaikul earned his first career victory, shooting 212 (71-70-71) at the Hargett Memorial Invitational in March.
2013-14:Â Numpituckchaikul turned in three top-10 performances as he started the season with a ninth place finish at the Smokey Mountain Intercollegiate. He led the Tornado to a fifth place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championships as he finished fifth as an individual.
2012-13: The Tornado were ranked in Golfstat's top-25 most of the year, while winning two tournaments and finishing second in two others. King won the Lincoln Memorial Invitational and the Barton Invitational while finishing second at both the King Invitational and the Spring Kickoff Invitational. Under Kamm's tutelage, Richard Powell became the first King golfer to be selected to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. John Scott also posted a school record 66 at the Richard Rendleman Invitational while Taylor Gouge won the King Invitational after shooting (68-69).
2011-12: King started the season in the headlines that Kamm’s No. 1 on the men’s side, Adrian Kibsey, qualified to compete for the Canadian Amateur National Championship. The Tornado kicked off the fall season with one of its three wins on the men’s side at the North Greenville Invitational. Kamm saw three of his golfers named to All-Conference teams prior to taking to top-5 finishes away from their first Conference Carolinas Golf Championship appearance. Six of his golfers were named to the Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team and Josh Bamberger was named Scholar Athlete of the Year in men’s golf.

2018-19: King finished eighth at the Conference Carolinas Championships, and were led all season long by second team All-Conference Carolinas selected Roxane Nataf. She finished fifth at the conference championship. Sasha Gardiner was also selected Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week on February 27.
2017-18: Roxane Nataf was selected Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year while earning third team all-conference honors. Nicola Robertson garnered first team all-conference accolades while leading King all season long.
2016-17:Â The King women's golf team won their first-ever Conference Carolinas championship. The Tornado won the tournament by three strokes, shooting 606 in the two-round event at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill. N.C. Nicola Robertson became the second Tornado to take home the individual title as she was named co-champion after the course was deemed unplayable after four playoff holes. Prior to that, King won the Agnes McAmis Memorial with Fiona Hebbel taking individual medalist honors with a score of one under. Three players garnered all-conference honors, Hebbel on the first team, Daphne Chang on the second team and Robertson on the third team.
2015-16:Â Elizabeth Swallow was also selected the Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year following a very successful career at King. Swallow was also selected as King University's Susie Toomey Female Athlete of the Year, and Nicola Robertson posted a feat that has rarely happened in women's collegiate golf when she birdied five straight holes at the Pfeiffer Invitational. Robertson also took home individual medalist honors at the season-opening Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate.
2014-15:Â On the women's side, Kamm guided the Tornado to tournament victories, winning the King University Invitational in the fall and the Converse Invitational in the spring. King also had two individuals take tournament titles. Freshman Nicola Robertson won the Converse Invitational and Elizabeth Swallow won the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational. King held leads in five tournaments and finished runner-up three times. The Tornado led the Conference Carolinas Tournament after each of the first two rounds and took second after placing four golfers in the top-six.
2013-14:Â Elizabeth Swallow placed in the top-10 in all but one tournament she entered and became the first women's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, qualifying for the NCAA South Regional as an individual. At the regional, Swallow finished 24th, marking her only finish not in the top-10. She won five tournaments, including the Conference Carolinas championship. As a team, the Tornado women placed fourth at the Conference Carolinas Championships.Â
2012-13:Â Kamm guided the women's team to a second place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship, in just their second year in the league. The Tornado were led by freshman Elizabeth Swallow who finished third at the conference championship and was in the top-10 in all but one tournament, including a pair of second place finishes. Swallow was named first team All-Conference Carolinas while Esther Gandarias earned Academic All-Conference Carolinas honors. Cortnee Young came away with a tournament title at the Converse Invitational.
Prior To King
Kamm began his professional career on the PGA Tour in 1990 and was inside the top 100 players on the TOUR money list for three years from 1993-95. He also finished inside the top-10 on the Nationwide Tour Money List in 1992 and 1997. Kamm claimed a victory in the 1997 Honda International, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, competing amongst some of the top professionals on the TOUR, at that time. He also took home a win at the Ben Hogan Panama City Beach Classic, in 1992.
He began his amateur career in 1981 where he placed third in the New York State Amateur competition that year. He played as an amateur until 1984. In that time, Kamm won the 1983 Monroe Invitational in addition to medaling and placing as a quarterfinalist in the Western Am in 1984.
Personal
Kamm played his collegiate golf at Florida State University from 1979 to 1984 where he played alongside PGA TOUR greats Paul Azinger, Jeff Sluman, and Nolan Henke. Kamm took home first place in the Seminole Intercollegiate Championship and in the Metro Conference Championship in 1984, the same year he was named an NCAA All-American.
Kamm worked with and learned from golfing legend David Ledbetter for 16 years in addition to working with top sports psychologist Dr. Bob Rottella for five years.
He graduated from Florida State University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in child development and family relations. Kamm is originally from Rochester, N.Y. and is married to his wife Yvette. Together, they have a daughter Brandy and a son, Michael. The couple currently resides in Bluff City, Tennessee.Â
