Emory, Va. - The King Women's Wrestling team travels to Emory, Va., for a pair of matches, first defeating Allen 40-10 and following up with a 35-7 win over Emory & Henry, securing two dominant victories on the road.
King vs. Allen:
King dominated Allen in a decisive matchup, defeating the Yellow Jackets 40-10 with a strong performance across the lineup.
The Tornado opened the match with momentum, earning a forfeit at 103, before quickly building on the lead at 110 and 117, as Kibelbek and Murphy secured first-period pins in back-to-back bouts. King continued to control the pace at 124, with Cantu adding another quick pin to extend the advantage.
After a forfeit win at 131, Julien-Newsom delivered a pin at 138 to keep King rolling. Allen would respond at 145 with a pin of their own, briefly slowing King's momentum. Steigler answered immediately at 160 with a dominant pin to regain control for the tornado. King closed out the match with a forfeit at 180 and another at 207, with Bommarito sealing the final points of the match. Kent capped the night with a quick pin, rounding out King's dominant performance.

The Tornado jumped out to an early lead with forfeits at 103, 110, and 117, quickly putting pressure on Emory & Henry from the opening bouts. King continued to build momentum at 124, as Pichardo earned a technical foul to extend the lead.
Cantu followed with a first-period pin at 131 to keep the Tornado rolling. After a double forfeit at 138, Emory & Henry picked up a decision at 145 and added a technical fall at 160 to account for their points.
Steigler responded at 180 with a strong technical fall to regain control for King, and Bommarito closed out the match in emphatic fashion with a first-period pin at 207, sealing the 35-7 victory.
