Aliyah Hawkins has been named the NCAA Division II National Player of the Week for Jan. 5–11, earning national recognition after a dominant stretch that showcased her all-around impact on the court.
Hawkins, a 5-7 guard from Crossville, Tennessee, delivered two standout performances as the Tornado collected wins over North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan. She came close to triple-doubles in both outings, opening the week with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists in a 74–53 victory over North Greenville. Her efficiency was striking—she shot 9-of-12 from the field, knocked down four three-pointers, and added four steals to complete one of the strongest games of her young career.
She followed that effort with another near triple-double, posting 20 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in a 72–58 win over Southern Wesleyan. Hawkins continued her sharp shooting, hitting 5-of-10 from the floor and four more shots from beyond the arc while contributing six made free throws.
For the week, Hawkins averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game while shooting 63.6 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from three-point range. The two double-doubles were the first of her collegiate career and also earned her Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors.
Her breakout performances place her firmly on the national radar and highlight the rising momentum within the King women's basketball program.
