BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced on Thursday the winners of the Athlete of the Month award.
Brianna Sabatino of women's soccer and
Carles Calvo Molina of men's golf were selected by their peers for their performances during the month of September.
Sabatino, a senior from Stafford, Virginia, started all 8 games for the Tornado in the time frame. She had a total of three goals including two-game winning goals against Shorter (Sept. 13) and Erskine (Oct. 4). She had a total of 13 shots with eight on target and leads the team with three assists.
Calvo Molina, a senior from Barcelona, Spain, opened the season at the Griffin Invitational with a 30
th place finish after carding a 223 (+7) over the three rounds. He followed that with a third place individual finish at the King Invitational finishing six-under par and leading the Tornado to a 4
th place team finish. For his performance at the King Invitational, he was named the Conference Carolinas Male Golfer of the Week on September 24.
Sabatino and the women's soccer team will be back in action this weekend against Southern Wesleyan. Calvo Molina will tee off with the rest of the men's golf team at the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate on October 13 and 14.
