King falls to Converse on Tuesday afternoon

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team fell to Conference Carolinas opponent Converse University on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 1-3. The Tornado are now 3-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Converse got on the board just 13 minutes into the game with two goals within 30 seconds of each other to quickly put the score up 2-0.
• King responded with a goal from Johana Martinez after a pass from Mia Van Groningen Dack to put the score at 2-1 less than 18 minutes into the game.
• The rest of the first half was a defensive battle as both teams combined for three shots.
• The Valkyries scored one final goal in the second half to seal the win.

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Johana Martinez had two shots, both on goal, and scored the only Tornado goal.
• Elsa Pelicant had two shots on goal off the bench.
• Mia Van Groningen Dack had the assist.

The King University women's soccer team will continue their final home stretch with a match on Saturday morning on October 11. Kick off is scheduled for 11:30am against Southern Wesleyan.
