HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The King University men's wrestling team won eight of the 10 matches wrestled Tuesday evening as they cruised to a 35-9 Conference Carolinas win over the University of Montevallo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo won the first two matches of the night, including a forfeit win at 133 pounds that put them ahead, 9-0.
- Ashtan Hendricks got King started at 141 pounds, winning an 8-1 decision before Brennan Watkins won via pin to tie the score at nine.
- Trent Mahoney pinned Carson Freeman at 157 pounds, after which Joe Bertrand won a tech fall to extend the King lead to 20-9.
- After a win by decision at 174 pounds by Clint Morrisette, the Tornado earned bonus points in the next two matches, including a 19-4 tech fall win by Ethan Lopez and a 14-6 win by David Bertrand at 197 pounds.
- The dual concluded at 285 pounds, where Jacob Telles earning a 6-3 win in overtime.

- The Tornado will compete at the NWCA National Duals this weekend in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Tornado will open against top-ranked St. Cloud State Friday morning.
