Ashley Allen.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- Le'Aije Ellington started King off with a three-point bucket before Shorter matched it.
- The Hawks took a short lead before King tied the lead before Mariya Williams gave King a two-point lead at the end of the quarter, 11-9.
Second Quarter
- Quickly in the second quarter Shorter took a six-point lead at 7:17, their largest lead of the afternoon.
- King responded with a 9-0 scoring run, with Alayna Smith, Williams, and Jaelyn West each contributing three points. The Tornado would lead the rest of the game as they took a 28-23 lead to the halftime locker room.
Third Quarter
- Ashley Allen got the second half action going for the Tornado with a tip-in layup at the 5:24 mark in the third quarter. She hit another tip-in layup out of the media timeout.
- King maintained their five-point lead as the third quarter closed with the Tornado up 39-4.
Fourth Quarter
- Allen broke her previous career-high points in a game with her second shot of the fourth quarter at 8:22 to give King an eight-point advantage.
- Williams gave King their largest lead of the night at 9 halfway through the quarter with a layup.
- Allen scored King's final points with a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left, giving her 9 in the final period.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ashley Allen led all scorers with 22 points. It is her career-high and the first time in her career that she scored 20+ points in a game. She also added 3 steals along with Williams grabbing 3 of her own.
- Mariya Williams was the only other King player in double-digits with 12. She also pulled down 11 total rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Williams' 4 assists is a career-high.
- Sarah Thompson also had a career-high 5 assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Derrica McCall scored 19 points. Tiara Lewis had 15 and Tori Smiley rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10.
- Lewis had a team-high 9 rebounds while McCall grabbed 3 steals. Tionna Baker dished out 4 assists.
