#3 Tornado earn two conference dual wins

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The #3 King University women's wrestling team won a pair of conference duals Saturday, beating Mount Olive 37-12 before a 25-20 win over Emmanuel.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Mount Olive

• #9 Mia Zuniga started the dual with a 12-1 win at 103 points, before five straight first period pins that stretched the lead to 29-1.
• Among those who had pins were #3 Samara Chavez, #6 Melanie Mendoza, #2 Montana DeLawder, #8 Anna DiCugno and Annabel Garcia.
• After a forfeit win by the Trojans, top-ranked Chey Bowman won a pin at 160 pounds, making it a 34-6 King lead.
• The Trojans won a forfeit at 180 pounds before Kenisha keke Jacsaint won a 6-4 decision at 207 pounds, winning the dual 37-12.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Emmanuel

• Zuniga again started the dual with a tech fall win, taking her match 10-0 before Chavez won a 52-second pin to make the score 9-0 in favor of King.
• Mendoza won a tech fall at 117 pounds, before DeLawder won a forfeit at 124.
• DiCugno won a 7-0 decision at 131 points before a pair of Emmanuel wins brought the score to 21-10.
• Bowman earned a 10-0 win at 160 pounds before the Lions took the final two bouts,
