Shade adds Prough to coaching staff

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University men's wrestling head coach Blaze Shade has hired Jared Prough to join his staff as an assistant coach.

"We are very excited to welcome Jared to the Tornado family," Shade said. "Jared has shown great enthusiasm and motivation towards building great men through wrestling. I cannot wait to see the impact he makes on our team and King University as a whole."

Prough, a native of Olathe, Kan., wrestled collegiately at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan., where he also got his bachelor's degree in Sports Management, with a minor in Psychology. After graduating, he spent time at Piper High School in Kansas City as an assistant wrestling coach, helping facilitate technique camps during the offseason. Prough also worked for the Greater Heights Wrestling Club in Kansas City.

"I started wrestling as a freshman in high school and it changed my life in many positive ways, so coaching and wanting to give back has always been one of my passions," Prough said. "I feel like King is a place where I can have an impact, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to start building something special here on the men's side with Coach Shade."
