BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's basketball team has their second straight Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week as
Mikhail Pocknett earned the distinction on Monday.
Pocknett was solid on the defensive end for the Tornado, recording eight steals in three contests last week. He averaged 7.7 rebounds and added one block while averaging 16.0 points per game. In King's 93-91 win at rival Lees-McRae College, Pocknett posted five steals to go along with eight rebounds and 18 points. The freshman added three steals against Johnson & Wales University (Charlotte) before closing the week with 10 rebounds, one block and 18 points in a win over North Greenville University.
This marks his first career weekly award from Conference Carolinas.
Kenny Turner garnered defensive player of the week honors last week.
