MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University women's volleyball team fell to Mount Olive on the road on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- While the opening set started with both teams close, King was chasing Trojans after the team were tied at 1-1.
- Riley Nelson notched 3 kills in the opening set and Amaya Hall had 4 assists.
- King also recorded a total of 3 blocks, with Nelson and Princess Emma Oluwa both getting 2 blocking assists.
Second Set
- In the second set, the two teams traded points with neither getting more than a 1 point lead until a kill from Nelson started a streak of five unanswered points for King to take a 13-8 lead.
- The Tornado had as much as a 6 point lead before Mount Olive came back to tie it at 20 and take a 23-21 lead.
- Four straight King kills from Capri Johnson, Oluwa, and Zephanie Snyder (2) sealed the 25-23 set victory.
- Synder led the Tornado attack with 6 kills in the set. Oluwa helped the defensive effort with 7 digs while Kylie Love hit 10 assists.
Third Set
- The third set was again a close competition as King held the Mount Olive lead to less than three points until late in the set.
- The Trojans went on an 11-4 run and closed the set victory with a service ace to take a 2-1 lead in the set.
- Gracia Love added 3 kills from the frontline.
Fourth Set
- Mount Olive started with the lead and retained it for the final set.
- Nelson (5) and Johnson (4) led the offensive efforts. Oluwa had 4 digs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
FOR THE FOES
- Ashlyn Stone had a match-high 23 kills and earned a double with 14 digs.
- Caroline Sheaffer contributed with a match-high 27 digs and 3 service aces.

The King University women's volleyball team is back in action tomorrow, Saturday October 12 at Barton. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
