BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team turned in a stellar performance on Friday night against 23rd-ranked University of Montevallo. The Tornado took the Conference Carolinas dual 37-9 behind three technical falls, three major decisions and one fall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tyson Upchurch got the Tornado off to a good start at 125 pounds as he turned a 15-3 deficit into a 5:35 pin of Colt Brown to give King a 6-0 lead.
- However, top-ranked Gabel Hixenbaugh followed with a pin at 133 pounds to even the score.
- Nico Crosnoe took a win by forfeit at 141 pounds to start a run of wins for the Tornado.
- Demetri Teddlie followed with an 18-4 major decision over Trent Gilham at 149 pounds before a 20-5 technical fall for Brennan Watkins over Carson Freeman at 157 pounds.
- Trent Mahoney extended the King lead to 26-6 with a 17-1 technical fall over Derek Hussey at 165 pounds.
- The wins continued for the Tornado as Elijah Brown topped Aiden Knight 13-7 at 174 pounds before Ethan Lopez took a 12-2 major decision over Jeffery Tubbs at 184 pounds.
- The King lead grew to 37-6 following an 11-1 Clint Morrisette major decision over Mark Pennison at 197 pounds.
- Montevallo won the final bout at 285 pounds, but King took the dual 37-9.
