HAMPTON, Va. – The King University men's wrestling team placed 5th at the Virginia Duals Saturday, taking home a pair of wins. King started with a win over Belmont Abbey College before beating Liberty University in the 5th-place match.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Belmont Abbey
- The Crusaders won a major decision at 125 pounds before King rattled off five wins in a row.
- Nico Crosnoe and Trent Mahoney both had pins for the Tornado, with Mahoney finishing his match off in 1:03 to put King in front 21-4.
- Belmont Abbey won via injury default at 174 pounds, but King won the final three matches, all by bonus points.
- After tech falls by Ethan Lopez and Clint Morrisette, Jacob Telles closed the dual with a 2:40 pin to clinch the dual, 37-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Liberty
- King won three of the first four matches, with Preston Soriano and Demetri Teddlie winning tech falls and Crosnoe winning a major decision, putting King up 14-6.
- After Liberty won a decision, Mahoney pinned David Over in 3:50, stretching the lead to 20-10.
- At 184 pounds, Morrisette won via pin in 3:50, while Telles won a 4-1 overtime decision over Wade Wheeler to lock up the dual, with King winning 29-18.
