Warren Davis finished with nine kills and four digs Saturday afternoon as the King University men's volleyball team dropped a nonconference contest, 3-0 to #7 Penn State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Penn State took an early 4-1 lead, before Davis picked up a kill to make the score 4-2.
- After the Nittany Lions took a 14-6 lead, King scored two straight points, with Davis picking up a kill and AJ Drooker getting a solo block, pulling King to within 14-8.
- The lead eventually reached 22-11, where a Penn State service error gave King a point, with another coming quickly off another Davis kill.
- Penn State would score three of the final six points to win the set 25-16.
Second Set
- After a Kellan Kennedy kill gave the Tornado the first point Penn State would score six of the next seven points, taking a 6-2 lead before Davis stopped the scoring run with a kill.
- The lead reached 10-4, but after a service error by the Nittany Lions, Colton Bueter had a service ace, followed by a solo block by Davis to make the score 10-7.
- Trailing 18-14, the Tornado scored three of the next five points, including a Zach Daniels service ace and an Aiden Olson kill, pulling to within 20-17.
- Five of the next seven points would go to Penn State, as they would take the set 25-19.
Third Set
- Neither team had a very large advantage early, with Penn State taking an early lead before King puled even at seven off a pair of errors.
- The Tornado kept things close, getting to within 16-13 off a Stoudt kill, but three straight Nittany Lions points saw the lead extend to 19-13.
- Penn State would finish the set with a 6-3 scoring run, including the final three points to win the set 25-16, and taking the match 3-0.

- Davis led the Tornado with nine kills, four digs and a pair of blocks.
- Bueter, Kennedy, Stoudt and Drooker all had a block each.
- Olson handed out 16 assists on the afternoon.
FOR THE FOES
- John Kerr led all players, finishing with 15 kills, with Toby Ezeonu finishing with 11.
- Michael Valeni and Ryan Merk both had eight digs.
- Michael Schwob handed out 37 assists.
UP NEXT
- King will host their home opener Thursday night against regional foe Tusculum University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
- Penn State will travel to Texas next weekend for a pair of neutral site matchups, starting Friday against Stanford University.
