BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's soccer team faced regional rival Tusculum University in their home opener on Wednesday evening. The contest was a defensive battle for the first 75 minutes, but the Pioneers scored three goals in the final 15 minutes to take the contest 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pioneers controlled play in the opening 45 minutes, taking seven shots while holding King to zero attempts.
- However, the Tornado defense only allowed two of those shots on frame, and both were turned away by Gauthier Lumale.
- Tusculum turned up the pressure in the second half, taking 23 shots as Lumale made three saves in the half, two in the opening 30 minutes of the half.
- Aaron McCrory took the first shot for the Tornado, coming in the 57th minute.
- Pedro Herrera added shots in the 74th and 84th minutes, but neither were on target.
- Tusculum broke through in the 77th minute on a cross from Asbjorn Saevik to Gui Busato who put his shot back across the net inside the right post.
- The Pioneers added goals from Artur Marques off of corner kicks in the 80th and 88th minutes to take the contest 3-0.
