BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball closed their home schedule with a series sweep of Chowan University. The Tornado offense erupted for 16 runs and 14 hits in a 16-2 game one win behind a stellar outing from
Drew Moore.
Jakob Brown followed that with a solid outing in game two as King topped the Hawks 7-4.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Renwick paced the offense with six hits, including two doubles and three runs batted in.
- Chase Hilliard drove in five runs on two hits, including a three-run home run.
- Davis Hall drove in four and scored four on three hits.
- Wes Bonney chipped in with three hits as well.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- After Chowan took a 2-0 lead with single runs in each of the first two innings, the Tornado evened the score in the third.
- Preston Steele drove in Hall with a groundout before Hilliard single to score Renwick and even the score at two.
- The fourth inning was huge for the Tornado, as they scored seven runs, including run scoring singles from Hall, Steele, Mason Swartz and Bonney, opening up a 9-2 advantage.
- King continued to pour on the runs in the fifth, scoring four times, including a two-run double from Renwick that plated Hall and Ethan Hawkins and stretched the Tornado lead to 13-2.
- The Tornado advantage stretched to 16-2 as a two-run J.T. Foster home run highlighted the frame.
- That was enough for Moore as he faced the minimum in the seventh, giving King the 16-2 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Chowan grabbed the lead on a one-out home run from Chris Bartholomew in the top of the third.
- The Tornado responded in the bottom of the inning as Patrick Corley drew a leadoff walk and scored on a Hall triple.
- Hall then scored on a Renwick single before Hilliard gave King a 5-1 lead with a three-run home run down the left field line.
- Chowan loaded the bases in the fifth, but Brown got out the inning to keep the Tornado in the lead.
- Bartholomew hit another home run in the seventh, pulling the Hawks within 5-2.
- The Tornado responded in the bottom of the seventh as Steele drove in Renwick with a single before Jake Lathrop made it a 7-2 Tornado lead with a single that scored Steele.
- Those proved to be big insurance runs as Warren Bailey hit a two-run home run for Chowan in the ninth inning, but Christian Walzak got the final two outs, giving King the 7-4 win.

- King closes the season on Friday and Saturday at Belmont Abbey College. First pitch from Belmont, N.C. is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
