Tornado drop league dual at NGU

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University men's tennis team played a tight dual at North Greenville University on Friday afternoon. The Tornado earned a pair of wins in singles and nearly won the doubles point, but fell to the Crusaders 5-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The No. 1 doubles match was tight as the North Greenville duo of Tuur Vos and Anthony Cassini edged Rhys Halcrow and Andre Schiabel 7-6 (7-5).
  • The Crusaders then took the No. 2 doubles match 6-4 to win the doubles point.
  • In singles, Alex Sodre took a 2-6, 6-3, 10-2 win over Lucas Cardoso at the top flight.
  • At No. 3 singles, Schiabel topped Dean Kingsley 6-3, 6-2.
  • However, the Crusaders won the final four singles matches, including one be default to take the dual 5-2.
UP NEXT
  • King travels to Emmanuel College on Saturday as the dual is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
