GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The King University baseball team earned a nonconference win at Tusculum University on Tuesday night. The Tornado scored four runs in the third inning and held on late to take the 6-5 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Huffman started the third inning with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.
- He scored on a fielding error before a Davis Hall single.
- Ethan Hawkins then singled to score Wes Bonney before Hall scored on a Junior Spivey single.
- Chase Hilliard drew a bases loaded walk to score Hawkins and give King a 4-0 lead.
- Bonney drew a one-out walk in the sixth and stole second before scoring on a Hall single, giving King a 5-0 lead.
- A pair of Tornado errors led to a Tusculum run in the bottom of the inning, but King led 5-1 after six.
- Tusculum started the bottom of the seventh with a single and double, putting runners on second and third.
- Christian Walzak got two outs, but Zane Keener ripped a two-run double before a pitching change and a single pulled the Pioneers within 5-4 going to the eighth inning.
- Hilliard and Huffman started the eighth inning with singles to put Tornado runners on the corners.
- A double steal scored one before a Hall single looked like it would score another.
- However, the Pioneers cut down the run at the play, but King held a 6-4 lead.
- An error and single put two Tusculum runners on in the bottom of the ninth before a single plated one run.
- A walk loaded the bases before Michael Cordova got a strikeout and flyout to end the inning ang give King the 6-5 win.
FOR THE FOES
- Zane Keener went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in.
- Ben Scartz and Will Samuelson each went 2-for-4 while Scartz drove in a pair.
