BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's basketball team continued their nonconference slate Monday night, falling to the University of North Georgia 103-44.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- Brianna Dunbar needed just 90 seconds to drill a three ball, though the Nighthawks responded with three of their own on the other end.
- Jaelyn West helped keep the Tornado in the game, hitting a pull up jumper with 3:25 to go, making the ensuing free throw to keep King within 13-10.
- UNG would end the quarter on a 16-2 run, taking a 29-12 lead after the first 10 minutes.
Second Period
- Ashley Allen hit a pair of driving layups early in the quarter, including with 7:21 left that brought the Tornado within 35-18.
- The Nighthawks then scored six of the next nine points, with Jhayda McKinney hitting a three ball to keep the Tornado at 40-21.
- North Georgia closed the half on a 14-5 scoring run, with West nailing a three-pointer in the closing seconds to make it 56-26 in favor of UNG.
Third Period
- Dunbar came up with the first points of the quarter at the 5:55 mark, hitting a driving layup, drawing the foul and hitting the free throw for an old fashioned three point play.
- In between a pair of Nighthawks buckets, Morgan Bone hit a pull up jumper with 3:11 to play.
- Alayna Smith and Jaden Potts would both hit buckets in the closing minutes, with North Georgia taking an 81-35 lead into the fourth.
Fourth Period
- After Bone came up with a steal with 5:17 to play, she fed the ball to Dunbar, who got it to Smith, who hit the layup to bring the score to 91-38.
- A couple minutes later, Smith hit another layup after grabbing an offensive rebound, making the score 97-40.
- Gramann would hit a pair of free throws, while Bone hit a jumper with 1:07 left as the Tornado fell to the Nighthawks, 103-44.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Dunbar and West both scored eight points for King, with Smith and Gramann both adding six.
- Allen finished with seven rebounds, while she and Gramann both had a pair of blocks.
FOR THE FOES
- Kendall Emener scored 20 points, leading four Nighthawks who scored in double figures.
- Lexi Pierce had eight assists, while Dasha Cannon had four steals.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado will open Conference Carolinas play this weekend with a trip to face Converse University Saturday afternoon.
- North Georgia is off until Dec. 15 when they host #15 Tampa.
