Jaelyn West scored 13 points and had eight rebounds, leading the King University women's basketball team in a 92-49 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne University Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- The Bears started the game on a 20-1 scoring run, with Alayna Smith hitting a free throw to account for the Tornado point.
- Le'Aije Ellington grabbed an offensive rebound with 1:43 to play and hit the quick layup, which Brianna Dunbar followed with a jump shot with 20 seconds left getting King to within 22-5.
Second Period
- West scored the first three points of the quarter for the Tornado, hitting a layup before making a free throw with 8:02 left.
- After a couple of buckets by the Bears, Jaden Potts took a pass from Jaylasia Office and hit the three to make the score 33-11.
- Lenoir-Rhyne would finish the half on a 16-9 scoring run, taking a 52-20 lead into halftime.
Third Period
- King was able to score some quick points, with West hitting a layup and Dunbar nailing a three to bring the Tornado to within 56-25.
- Office would hit a jumper at the 4:43 mark, which started a 10-0 scoring run, making the score 67-37 with just over a minute remaining.
- Torey Walker would hit a three with 27 seconds left to pull King within 69-39 entering the fourth quarter.
Fourth Period
- Lenoir-Rhyne started on a 7-2 run, with Walker hitting a jumper with 8:09 left for the Tornado.
- Gramann took a pass from Kiley Beach and hit a layup with 1:28 left, which West followed with a jumper with just over a minute to play, though the Bears would finish with the last six points, winning 92-49.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- West finished with season-highs in points (13), rebounds (8) and assists (3).
- Walker finished with seven points and six rebounds, while Dunbar pulled seven rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Lenoir-Rhyne had five score in double figures, led by 18 from MIkeba Jones, who also had three steals and five rebounds.
- Blaikley Crooks had five steals, while scoring 13 points.
