LUBBOCK, Texas – The King University women's basketball team finished their Texas roadtrip with an 82-42 loss to Lubbock Christian University Saturday night, with
Ashley Allen scoring 12 points to lead the Tornado, along with nine rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- There was a flurry of scoring early, with both teams hitting buckets early, with Ashley Allen hitting a layup before hitting a second0chance layup with 7:09 to play, making the score 5-4 in favor of the Lady Chaps.
- Allen pulled an offensive rebound and made the putback, drawing the foul and hitting the free throw to tie the score at seven.
- King would take the lead with 2:25 left on a fast break three from Jaelyn West before the Lady Chaps hit a layup 20 seconds later to re-take the lead, 11-10.
- Allen closed the quarter by hitting a layup with a minute left, pulling King to within 13-12 after the first 10 minutes.
Second Period
- The Chaps scored the first seven points of the quarter before Raven Addison hit a jumper with 7:44 to play.
- With 3:17 to play, Jalaysia Office would make a jump shot, but it was sandwiched between Lubbock Christian buckets, with the Chaps maintaining a 32-19 lead.
- The Tornado would go 7-of-10 from the free throw line in the quarter, but the Lady Chaps pulled out to a 36-23 lead entering halftime.
Third Period
- Lubbock Christian scored nine of the first 11 points, with a driving layup by Brianna Dunbar accounting for the Tornado points.
- Office would hit a jumper in the paint before West made a free throw a minute later to make the score 50-28.
- After the Lady Chaps stretched the lead to 64-30, Allen grabbed an offensive rebound and hit the putback layup, making the score 64-32 heading into the final quarter.
Fourth Period
- The Lady Chaps held a 72-35 lead with just under six minutes to play when Kiley Beach hit a free throw, then hit a second-chance jump shot, bringing the Tornado to within 72-38.
- Michelle Gallegos and Office would both hit a pair of free throws in the final five minutes, but the Lady Chaps prevailed, 82-42.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Allen's 12 points is a new season-high, and is the second time this season she has scored in double figures.
- Brianna Dunbar finished with eight points, with West adding seven and Office scoring six/.
- Alexa Gramann pulled six rebounds for King.
FOR THE FOES
- Maci Maddox led all scorers with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
- All 13 players who saw the floor scored for the Lady Chaps.
- Grace Foster and Tia Johnson both had five rebounds.
