Hailee Blankenship of the King University women's volleyball team was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Monday, her first weekly honor of the season.
Blankenship, a senior from Goode, Va., averaged 5.13 kills and 4.13 digs per set, including double-doubles in both Tornado matches. She had 18 kills and 18 digs in a three set home win over Belmont Abbey College before finishing with a season-high 23 kills and 15 digs Saturday at Converse University.
On the season, Blankenship is averaging 3.48 kills and 2.85 digs per set, and has 10 double-doubles thus far. She has recorded double-digit kills in seven of her last eight matches.
The Tornado will host Concord University Wednesday evening in a nonconference contest. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. from inside the Student Center Complex.
