NEWBERRY, S.C. – The King University men's wrestling team returned to the mat on Tuesday with a South Atlantic Conference Carolinas (SACC) dual at Newberry College. The Tornado came back twice, but were unable to get a run of wins going to the stretch as Newberry took the dual 36-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Newberry started with a pin at 125 pounds, but Franky Medina answered for the Tornado at 133 pounds.
- Medina pinned Fletcher Swindell in 5:14, evening the dual at 6-6.
- The Wolves then won back-to-back matches on a major decision and technical fall before another Tornado victory.
- At 157 pounds, Trent Mahoney took a 15-0 technical fall win over Nolan Wheeler, cutting the Tornado deficit to 15-11.
- Bo Perkins followed with a 9-4 decision over Asa Walton at 165 pounds, cutting the Tornado deficit to 15-14.
- However, Newberry came back with a pair of pins, and a forfeit to extend their lead.
- The final match of the day went to triple overtime as Newberry's Devon Rice earned a 3-2, TB-1 victory over Jacob Telles, giving the Wolves the 36-14 victory.
