FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The second-ranked King University women's wrestling team sent seven wrestlers to the Robert Horton Memorial on Sunday. The Tornado returned home with four champions and six placers at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fourth-ranked Avery Kibelbek finished runner-up, going 2-1 on the day at 101 pounds. She earned a technical fall win before an 8-0 victory over Campbellsville University's Gabrielle Medeiros in the semifinals.
- However, she fell to sixth-ranked Samantha Miller of Presbyterian University in the championship bout.
- Third-ranked Dianna Holmes won both of her matches at 109 pounds by technical fall to finish first.
- At 116 pounds, fourth-ranked Danielle Garcia went 3-0 with a pin, technical fall and a 4-0 decision over Jenna Petryna of the University of Alberta in the championship.
- Seventh-ranked Melanie Mendoza went 5-1 at 123 pounds to finish third. She earned a pair of pins on the day, and her only defeat was to fifth-ranked Naomi Henry of New Jersey City College, a 4-1 defeat in the semifinals.
- Top-ranked Ashlynn Ortega won all three of her bouts to win the 143-pound bracket.
- She earned a pair of wins by technical fall and another by fall.
- Second-ranked Chey Bowman went 3-0 to take the title at 170 pounds.
- Bowman started with a pin before winning the championship with a 5-0 decision over Chamira Cooper of the University of the Cumberlands.
