BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship, the league announced their all-conference performers. King University's
Drew Moore earned first team honors while
Robbie Scott garnered second team recognition.
Moore earns first team honors for the second straight year as he ranks among the league leaders in numerous pitching categories. His 3.77 ERA ranks sixth in the league while he is holding opponents to .235 batting average to rank fourth in Conference Carolinas. In 62.0 innings pitched Moore has struck out 64 batters, ranking him ninth in the league. He is 7-3 on the season, ranking him sixth in the league in wins. He owns victories over Belmont Abbey College, University of Mount Olive and Barton College. Moore posted two games with at least 10 strikeouts, punching out 10 against Belmont Abbey and 11 in a win over Chowan.
Scott garners second team honors in his first season on campus. He leads the Tornado in numerous offensive categories as his .379 batting average is 12th in Conference Carolinas. He also ranks in the league's top 20 in slugging percentage (.588), on base percentage (.461), on base plus slugging (1.049) and runs batted in with 42. Scott leads the Tornado with 20 multiple hit games, including two with four hits, as well as 10 multiple RBI games. He drove in six with a pair of home runs against Emmanuel College and drove in five against Southern Wesleyan University. He also hit two home runs in a game against Tusculum University.
The Tornado open the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship on Wednesday morning. The sixth seeded Tornado will take on seventh seeded Francis Marion University. First pitch from Fleming Stadium in Wilson, N.C. is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
