BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team dropped their first South Atlantic Conference Carolinas dual of the season Wednesday night, falling to no. 7 Lander University 34-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lander won two tech falls to start the match before racking up a win via major decision and a pin to take a 20-0 lead.
- Trent Mahoney got the Tornado on the board at 157 pounds, pinning Lander's Bryson Ethington in 4:28 to cut the lead to 20-6.
- At 165 pounds, Bo Perkins earned an 8-5 decision over David Hunsberger to make the score 20-9.
- The Bearcats would win the final four matches of the night, two of which were bonus point wins to take the dual 34-9.
UP NEXT
- King will be in action this weekend at the Georgia Open before returning to the Student Center to host Coker and the King Open.
- Lander will compete at both The Citadel Open and the Georgia Open on Saturday.
