ATLANTA, Ga. – The second-ranked King University women's wrestling team posted another solid open to start their season. King had seven individual champions and 12 placers at the Eagle Madness hosted by Life University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 101 pounds, Jessica Corredor finished first with three wins, two by technical fall and another by fall. In the final she defeated fourth-ranked Samantha Miller of Presbyterian College on an 11-0 technical fall.
- Also at 101 pounds, Avery Kibelbek finished third with three wins. Following a defeat to Miller, Kibelbek came back with back-to-back technical fall wins, including an 11-0 victory over Dej-Ann Angus of Brewton Parker College in the third-place bout.
- First-ranked Sage Mortimer and Dianna Holmes finished first and second, respectively at 109 pounds.
- Mortimer won all six of her bouts, including four by technical fall. The one victory by decision came over Holmes, 6-5.
- Holmes went 5-1 on the day with the one defeat coming to teammate Mortimer. She earned four wins by technical fall and another on a fall.
- The Tornado also finished first and second at 116 pounds with second-ranked Samara Chavez taking first and third-ranked Danielle Garcia finishing runner-up.
- Chavez went 4-0 as she opened with a pair of pins and a technical fall before defeating teammate Garcia 8-0 in the championship bout.
- Garcia also started with back-to-back falls and a win by technical fall before falling to Chavez.
- Fifth-ranked Vayle-Rae Baker won the 123-pound weight class, going 4-0 with a pair of technical fall victories. In the championship she defeated Shelby Moore 6-0.
- Also at 123 pounds, fourth-ranked Melanie Mendoza finished fourth going 3-2. She earned two wins by fall and another via technical fall.
- At 130 pounds, Montana DeLawder, who is ranked fifth, finished third. She started with a pair of pins before falling to Sidney Sullens of Life. DeLawder then pinned Evelyne Vazquez of Emmanuel College in 48 seconds before defeating Presbyterian's Sierra Marie Miller 12-6 in the third-place bout.
- Viktorya Torres went 3-0 at 143 pounds to take the title. She opened with a pin and technical fall before defeating Life's Jamilah McBryde 14-5 in the championship match.
- Sixth-ranked Tiffani Baublitz and third-ranked Chey Bowman rounded out the titles for the Tornado, taking home crowns at 155 and 170 pounds, respectively.
- Baublitz went 3-0 with one victory by fall and another by on a 12-1 technical fall over Brewton Parker's India Page in the championship bout.
- Bowman started with a pair of wins by fall before defeating Jessie Lee of Life 9-2 in the championship match.
