Tornado take victory over Brescia

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team won all six matches they played in a nonconference dual against Brescia University. That led to a 5-2 Tornado victory to close the fall schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In doubles play, Deniz Aytun and Mishka Koricinova defeated Deimante Krivickaite and Charly Hayden 6-3 at the top flight.
  • At No. 2 doubles, Mireia Mas Ortega and Neem Shamsuddin defeated Sarah Dunaway and Natalie Estes 6-2, giving King the doubles point.
  • In singles, Aytun took a 6-2, 6-2 win over Krivickaite at the top flight while Shamsuddin topped Dunaway 6-1, 6-1 at the third flight.
  • At No. 4 singles, Mas Ortega defeated Estes 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the dual win for the Torando.
  • Koricinova then topped Hayden 8-2 at No. 2 singles, giving King the 5-2 victory.

  • The Tornado will be in action again in the spring as they face Erskine College on March 8.
  • Brescia next faces Bethel University on Saturday.
