GREENWOOD, S.C. – The King University men's wrestling team won the first two matches of the night, but were unable to hold off the Lander University Bearcats, falling 22-20 Thursday night in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The dual started at 149 pounds, where Demetri Teddlie earned a narrow 3-2 victory over Randy Meyers.
- King picked up another win at 157 pounds, where Dallas Boone edged Bryson Ethington 4-2, extending the King lead to 6-0.
- After two straight wins by Lander, one of which resulted in bonus points, Dallin Ewart picked up a win via fall with just two seconds left in the first period to put King back in the lead, 12-7.
- The Bearcats picked up wins at 197 and 285 pounds to take an 18-12 lead.
- Rylee Billings trailed 2-0 entering the third period at 125 pounds, but racked up a takedown and four back points to walk away with a 6-2 decision.
- Lander won via major decision at 133 pounds before sixth-ranked Christian Small won a first-period fall over Hunter Jugens, but it wasn't enough, as the Tornado fell 22-20.
