FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The top-ranked King University women's wrestling team competed at the Robert Horton Memorial on Sunday and had 12 placers. Of those placers, seven Tornado won individual titles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 101 pounds, second ranked Jaclyn McNichols went 2-2 to finish third. She defeated a pair of competitors from Life University, Devyn Gomez on a 10-0 technical fall and Katalina Bartelt on a 4-2 decision.
- However, she fell to third-ranked Samantha Miller of Presbyterian College and dropped a tight 2-1 decision to Emmanuel College's Angelina Gomez. Gomez has been in the rankings this season, but wasn't in the latest rankings.
- Samara Chavez won the 109-pound bracket as she is ranked fifth at 116 pounds. Dianna Holmes fished second and Lesly Hernandez finished fourth in the bracket.
- Chavez won all five her matches, four by fall and one by technical fall.
- Holmes went 4-1, with her only defeat to teammate Chavez.
- Ranked second, Sage Mortimer won the 116-pound bracket, going 3-0.
- Mortimer started with a 15-4 technical fall before a 4:46 pin of Emmanuel's Kasey Baynon. In the final, she took a 10-0 technical fall over Jaslynn Gallegos of Presbyterian.
- Melanie Mendoza won all five of her matches to finish first at 123 pounds.
- Four of Mendoza's wins came by fall, and the other came via a 10-0 technical fall over runner-up Catherine Bertrand of Presbyterian.
- At 130 pounds, fourth-ranked Phoenix Dubose finished runner-up, going 2-1 on the day.
- She earned a pair of technical fall wins, 11-0 and 10-0 to reach the final against Julia Vidallon of Life. Vidallon took the title on a forfeit.
- Top-ranked Ana Luciano won the 136-pound bracket with three wins, all by fall. She pinned Life's Angie Prado in 59 seconds to take the title.
- Ashlynn Ortega went 3-0 at 143 pounds to finish first. The second-ranked wrestler earned two wins by technical fall and another by fall.
- At 155 pounds, fifth-ranked Tiffani Baublitz finished first with three wins. She started with a 9-1 decision over Gabriella Shevlin of Presbyterian before pinning Destinee Rivera in 4:51.
- She defeated Life's Alma Mendoza on an 8-1 decision in the final.
- Chey Bowman won all three of her bouts at 170 pounds to finish first. Ranked third, Bowman took her first two wins by fall to reach the final.
- In the final, she topped Life's Jordan Nelson on a 1-0 decision.
- Fifth-ranked Nia Crosdale finished second at 191 pounds, going 2-1.
- In the semifinals, she earned a 5-1 decision over second-ranked Cristina Santoyo of Emmanuel.
