CLEVELAND, Tenn. – It was another history match for the King University women's volleyball team on Friday night as the Tornado defeated Lee University 3-1.
Brittney Ramsey set the NCAA era record for career blocks as she now as 245 in her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Ramsey started her night with a kill as King scored the first four points of the match and took an 8-2 lead following a kill from Kara Miller.
- Ramsey later gave King a 14-6 lead before the Flames started to work their way back.
- The Flames staved off three set points, but Hailee Blankenship eventually ended the 25-22 Tornado victory with a kill.
Second Set
- Lee grabbed the lead early in the set, and extended their advantage to seven in the middle of the fame.
- Trailing 22-15, King went on a 7-2 to pull within 24-22 following a block from Miller and Allie Zimmerman.
- However, it wasn't enough as the Flames took the set 25-22.
Third Set
- The Tornado broke a tie at three with three straight points, capped by kills from Blankenship and Zimmerman.
- In all, King went on an 8-2 run to take an 11-5 lead.
- A Julie Ward kill later gave King a 16-9 lead as King held the lead there for the remainder of the set.
- Abigale Jayne gave King the 25-17 victory with a kill.
Fourth Set
- The Tornado held the lead early in the fourth set, but Lee made a move in the middle of the frame.
- The Flames held a 23-19 lead when Ramsey came up with a kill that sparked the Tornado.
- That brought Katie Harless to the service line and she proceeded to serve up back-to-back aces before Ward evened the tally with a kill.
- King took a 24-23 lead, capping the 5-0 run before the teams traded points.
- The Tornado later held a 26-25 lead when Blankenship came up with a kill to give King the 27-25 victor, taking the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ward and Jayne led four Tornado in double figures with 13 kills apiece.
- Ramsey followed with 12 kills and Blankenship accounted for 10 terminations.
- Ward added 17 digs while Ramsey accounted for seven blocks, including two solo stuffs.
- Blankenship added 15 digs while Claire Wilson led the back row with 23 digs.
- Harless handed out 29 assists and added 11 digs and those two aces.
- Georgia Davis posted 15 assists and eight digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Emma Flowers led Lee with 19 kills while Allie Whittinghill posted 15 kills.
- Reagan Bratton handed out 46 assists and added 12 digs.
- Lyssi Snouffer and Kamryn Halpin led the back row with 21 digs apiece.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Ramsey became King's NCAA era (since 2011) leader in total blocks, breaking the previous record of 240 set by Kayley Holtzclaw and Grace Underwood.
- Ramsey is the leader in total blocks and block solos with 245 and 69, respectively.
- Wilson set a career-high with 23 digs, her first match with at least 20 digs.
- Harless' 29 assists set a career high.
