DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University softball team ran into a hot pitcher on Saturday afternoon at Erskine College. The Tornado offense couldn't get going against the Flying Fleet pitching, dropping game one 3-0 and game two 4-2.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Turner posted a two-out hit in the first inning for the Tornado, but that was it in the inning.
- The Flying Fleet put their first two runners on in the bottom of the inning on an error and base hit.
- Shi Cain then hit a three-run home run to give the Flying Fleet a 3-0 lead.
- Hannah Houge then settled in for the Flying Fleet in the circle, not allowing another Tornado hit until the sixth inning.
- Helms reached on a strikeout with a wild pitch in the second and then was hit by a pitch in the fifth, but those were the only two baserunners the Tornado were able to get.
- King then went down in order in the seventh, falling 3-0.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Turner again reached base with two outs in the first inning, but this time on a walk, and she was stranded again.
- Erskine had a pair of runners in the first, but the Tornado got out of the jam to keep the game scoreless.
- The Flying Fleet took a 4-0 lead in the second inning, scoring four unearned runs, the last two on a Sydney McInnis double.
- Haylee Dye worked a walk in the fourth, and later scored on a Helms home run, cutting the Tornado deficit to 4-2.
- However, that was all King could muster against Houge as the Tornado only had two baserunners the rest of the way, falling 4-2.

- McInnis posted three hits on the day, one double and drove in two.
- Cain followed with two hits, the home run and three runs batted in.
