BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team closed their dual schedule with a pair of wins over the University of Mount Olive and Queens University on Thursday night. The Tornado topped Mount Olive 38-9 before defeating Queens 29-18.

HOW IT HAPPENED – MOUNT OLIVE
- Following a forfeit at 125 pounds, Rylee Billings got the Tornado on the board with an 8-1 decision over Hayden Waddell at 133 pounds.
- King then rolled off five straight wins to take a 26-6 lead. Christian Small started the run with a 19-1 major decision at 141 pounds over Seth Thomas.
- At 149 pounds, Trent Mahoney followed with a 4:07 pin over Cody Smith and Dallas Boone earned a 16-0 technical fall win over Dimitri Naimi at 157 pounds.
- Bo Perkins took an 8-2 win over Colby Teague at 165 pounds, and Josh Wynn earned a 14-3 major decision over JonLuke Horne at 174 pounds.
- King closed the 38-9 victory with a pair of pins at 197 and 285 pounds.
- Charles Swiggett pinned Slade Watkins in 1:32 at 197 pounds and Cameron Dubose pinned Shayne Mallory in 4:04 at 285 pounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED - QUEENS
- King and Queens traded forfeits at 125 and 141 pounds while Billings got the Tornado going again against Queens with a 6-0 decision over Noah Gilbert at 133 pounds.
- Mahoney earned another pin, taking down Jude Lloyd in 3:35 at 149 pounds before Boone took a 14-8 decision over Christopher Cohens at 157 pounds.
- Perkins made it a 23-6 Tornado lead with a 17-2 technical fall win at 165 pounds over Alex Baynard.
- The Royals then earned three straight wins before 12th-ranked Cade Ridley pinned Joshua Voelkel in 1:51 at 285 pounds to give King the 29-18 win.
UP NEXT
- King and Queens will be in action again on February 27 at the NCAA Division II Super Region II Championships. The championships will be hosted by Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga.
- Mount Olive takes on Belmont Abbey College and Emmanuel College at Belmont Abbey on Saturday.
