CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University women's volleyball team bounced back from a defeat on Friday night with a sweep of Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King gained the advantage early and gradually extended the advantage to 10-5 following a Zephanie Snyder kill
- The Tornado then went on a 4-1 run, including three straight points to take a 14-7 advantage. Georgia Davis had a kill on the run and Brittney Ramsey capped the spurt with a block.
- The advantage grew to 19-9 before the Tornado had to hold off a late Warrior run.
- A Ramsey kill gave King the set 25-18.
Second Set
- King turned deficit into a 7-4 lead with a 5-0 run early in the second set.
- Davis started a 4-0 King run with a kill that gave the Tornado a 21-15 advantage.
- Following four straight Warrior points, King closed the set on a 4-2 run to take the set 25-21.
Third Set
- Southern Wesleyan gained a 13-7 lead early, but the Tornado clawed their way back.
- A 5-1 Tornado spurt pulled King within 14-12 following a Julie Ward ace.
- King then scored five straight points to take a 17-15 lead following five straight Tornado kills.
- Ramsey, Davis and Belcher all had kill while Abigale Jayne posted two kills on the spurt.
- The Tornado end the set on a 5-2 run as Ward came up with a kill and a Ramsey block gave King the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ward led King with 10 kills and 17 dis.
- Ramsey followed with nine kills and three blocks.
- Jayne chipped in with eight kills and 10 digs.
- Davis posted 16 assists and 11 digs.
- Claire Wilson accounted for 12 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Amber Bass led Southern Wesleyan with 12 kills and eight digs.
- Ashlyn Holford followed with 11 kills.
- Jesse Soles led the defense with 20 digs.
- Ashley Sexton accounted for 26 assists and 13 digs.
