SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's soccer team took to the road to face Converse University on Tuesday evening. The Valkyries scored twice in the opening 45 minutes and held the Tornado off in the second half to take the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Converse had the scoring chances early as a corner kick led to the first goal of the match in the 17th minute.
- The Tornado tried to turn the field but couldn't put an attack together through the stout Converse defense.
- A foul in the box led to a penalty kick for the Valkyries, which was converted as the Tornado trailed 2-0 in the 33rd minute.
- Megan Brody had a shot sail wide in the 38th minute before Bella Crisci's chanced was saved in the 41st minute.
- Crisci had another shot turned away in the 45th minute as Converse led 2-0 at the break.
- Converse extended the lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 54th minute.
- Anya Gross had a pair of chances in the 58th minute, but one was turned away and the other was off target.
- Crisci had another shot turned away, and the Tornado couldn't get any other offense going as Converse took the match 3-0.
