King tops Emmanuel for first conference win

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University men's tennis team came out with a victory after a hard fought battle with Emmanuel College 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Alejandro Feliciano and Lennard Neumann started the day off for the Tornado with a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles.
  • The tandem of Arturo Alfaro and Jorge Rojas followed with a doubles win of their own 7-6 against Jorge Cabadas and Lucas Hideo Sasaki.
  • Charles Jabaley and Sebastian Lieflaender closed out doubles play with a 6-0 shutout against Juan Camilo Burgos and Gustaf Ivarsson.
  • Feliciano would take another victory on the day at No. 2 singles where he topped Thembokwakhe Makhany 6-4, 6-3.
  • Alfaro followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win of his own at No. 3 singles.
  • Jabaley defeated Burgos 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5 singles to secure the win for the Tornado.

UP NEXT

  • King is on the road again on Wednesday as they travel to Cleveland, Tenn. to face Lee University. The non-conference match-up scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
  • Emmanuel hosts Lees-McRae College on Saturday.
