Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's basketball team earned a nonconference win on Wednesday night as they defeated Lincoln Memorial University 67-60. Arielle Holloway scored a career-high 22 points as the Tornado defeated Lincoln Memorial for the first time since 2014.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- The Railsplitters jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening quarter that saw LMU shoot 53.3 percent from the field.
- Ali Golden answered with a triple and jump shot, evening the score for the Tornado.
- LMU then extended their lead back to five points and held the advantage for nearly the remainder of the quarter until the Tornado scored nine straight points.
- King scored the final nine points of the stanza, started by a Holloway triple.
- Holloway then grabbed an offensive rebound and made the putback, giving King a 21-18 lead going into the second quarter.
Second Period
- Over the first five minutes of the quarter, King scored eight straight points to take a 29-20 lead on another Holloway layup, this one coming off of a Kiki Samsel steal.
- Holloway gave King their largest lead of the first half a 35-25 with a basket with two minutes remaining until halftime.
- The Railsplitters scored the final bucket of the half, cutting the King lead to 39-31 at the break.
Third Period
- Both defenses dug in during the second quarter as the King held LMU to a 30.0 field goal percentage while the Railsplitters held King to a 25.0 field goal percentage.
- A Kori West layup stretched the King lead to 11 points at 45-34 early in the quarter.
- The Railsplitters chipped away at their deficit and pulled within 48-44 with two minutes remaining in the quarter.
- However, West responded with three points to give King a 51-44 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Fourth Period
- LMU scored the first basket of the final period, cutting their deficit to five, but King came back with seven straight points.
- Holloway gave the Tornado their largest lead of the night at 58-46 with a jump shot with six minutes remaining.
- The Railsplitters came back to get within five a few times down the stretch, but King held off the run to take the 67-60 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Holloway scored 22 points, shooting 8-for-12 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
- Golden followed with 11 points while West chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Shermeria Quarles led LMU with nine points and 12 rebounds.
- Kyndall Caudle and Toni McCombs chipped in with eight points apiece.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 22 points for Holloway marks a career-high. Her previous best was 15 set last season against North Greenville University.

- King is in action again on December 4 when they open Conference Carolinas play against rival Lees-McRae College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
