GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The King University cycling team closed their season at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships. Fausto Crapiz highlighted the weekend, taking a national championship in the individual team time trial, leading King to a seventh place finish in Division 2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Crapiz finished the Individual time trial in 32:44.90, coming in more than one minute ahead of the second place time of 34:01.92.
- Crapiz becomes the second Tornado to win a national title at the USA Cycling Road National Championships, and first male, joining Jennifer Caicedo who won the road race in 2016.
- In Sunday's Criterium, Crapiz led the way with a 15th place finish while Alan Edwards took 33rd.
- Edwards started the weekend with a finish of 39th in road race.
- In the team time trial, the group of Edwards, Matthew Owen, Eric Hubbs finished 11th.
