BELMONT, N.C. – The King University men's wrestling team opened the Super Region II Duals on Friday with a pair of tough defeats. The Tornado were ahead early against 23rd-ranked Lake Erie College, but the Storm came back to defeat King 23-16. In the nightcap, King fell behind Tiffin University early and couldn't recover, falling to the Dragons 33-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED – LAKE ERIE
- Reed Jacks got the Tornado off to a good start with a 3:38 pin of Jason Brewster at 125 pounds.
- Following a Storm technical fall, ninth-ranked Bryce Killian took a 4-0 decision over Zane Johnson to give King a 9-5 lead.
- Landon Goforth followed Killian with a win, taking a 12-2 major decision over Alexander Lieb that stretched the Tornado lead to 13-5.
- However, Lake Erie earned four straight wins to take a 20-13 lead before Elijah Seay got the Tornado back on the board.
- Seay came from behind to defeat Jesse Palser 5-4, pulling King within 20-17.
- Nevertheless, the Storm took the final bout, winning the dual 23-16.

HOW IT HAPPENED – TIFFIN
- Tiffin jumped out early over the Tornado in the second match of the day, quickly opening up a 15-0 lead with three straight victories.
- The lead grew to 34-0 before Seay got the Tornado on the board when he pinned 11th-ranked Nicholas Mason at 197 pounds. Eldon Valery, Jr. won the final bout, earning takedown in overtime to defeat Chase Carter 3-1.
- However, the Dragons still won the contest 33-9.
