NEWBERRY, S.C. – The King University men's wrestling team accomplished something they hadn't in four years on Saturday as they went 1-1 at the Super Region II Duals. The Tornado knocked off 23rd-ranked Tiffin University 30-16 for their first win over a ranked opponent since 2013. King the fell to seventh-ranked University of Findlay 26-12 later in the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED - #23 TIFFIN
- The Tornado got off to a great start behind Reed Jacks and 125 pounds and Jacob Wynn at 133 pounds. Jacks took a 16-0 technical fall over Landon Elliot before Wynn pinned Rico Puente in 4:34, giving King an 11-0 lead.
- The Dragons then picked up a pair of wins, one by forfeit to cut their deficit to 11-9.
- King answered with four straight wins, started by a 16-6 major decision for Landon Reed over Travis Salyer at 157 pounds.
- At 165 pounds, Cory Collins pinned Beau Minnick in 4:03 and Joey Mammolenti pinned Chase Boyd in 2:21.
- Elijah Seay gave King a 30-9 lead with a 5-0 decision over Jared Chambers at 184 pounds.
- The Dragons had a pair of ranked wrestlers take wins at 197 and 285 pounds, but King took the dual 30-16.
HOW IT HAPPENED - #7 FINDLAY
- Jacks again got King off to a good start with a 3-1 decision over Schuyler Phillips at 125 pounds.
- Fifth-ranked Dustin Kirk followed with a 6-5 decision over Devin Rogers, giving king a 6-0 lead.
- However, Findlay evened the tally as 12th-ranked Josh Wimer took a win by pin at 141 pounds, starting an Oiler run.
- The win started a streak of four straight wins by ranked wrestlers from Findlay, giving the Oilers a 17-6 lead.
- At 174 pounds, Mammolenti got King back on the board when he defeated fifth-ranked Bradley Metz 9-4.
- Seay cut the King deficit to 17-12 with a 6-2 decision over Charles Wells.
- However, the seventh-ranked Oilers took the final two matches, to win the dual 26-12.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Tornado victory over No. 23 Tiffin marked their first win over a ranked opponent since January 11, 2013 when King topped No. 15 Maryville University 30-14.
