Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – On what was an eventful opening day, the King University men's soccer team dropped a 5-2 decision to Brevard College. The match was delayed due to lightning, and the Tornado pulled within one at 3-2 in the second half, but the Tornados netted the final two goals to take the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brevard didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard as Gabriel Garcia took a pass from Ryan McPhillips and found the back of the net in the 7th minute to give the Tornados the lead.
- The Tornados extended their lead to 2-0 when Camilo Sosa ripped a free kick to Gabriel Pastrana who finished, giving the Tornados a 2-0 lead at halftime.
- Eli Carrasco got King on the board in the 50th minute when he took a pass from Carlos Saavedra and placed his shot in the lower left corner of the net.
- However, the Tornados answered in the 52nd minute when Alex Goettl took a pass from Jesse Omezi and ripped a shot into the back of the net.
- Carrasco again pulled King within one in the 60th minute when Luis Calderon flipped a back heel pass from the goal line back to him. Carrasco ripped his shot into the back of the net.
- Nevertheless, Brevard answered again, scoring in the 83rd minute when Winston Haddock found Sosa who found the back of the net.
- Chris Efenecy tacked on an insurance goal for the Tornados in the 89th minute, giving Brevard the 5-2 win.
- King outshot the Tornados 16-9, with King putting seven shots on frame.
- The Tornado also held Brevard without a corner kick while King took 10 corners.
FOR THE FOES
- All five of the Tornados' scorers tallied their first goal of the season.
