King closes regular season with win at NGU

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University men's tennis team closed the regular season with a road Conference Carolinas victory. The Tornado took all three doubles points from North Greenville University and closed out the 7-2 victory with four wins in singles play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Moritz Poswiat and Luis Delgado got the Tornado on the board with an 8-2 win over Sjors van Eck and Sergio Araujo at No. 1 doubles.
  • At the third flight, Kyle Logue and Lenny Keswani earned an 8-3 victory over Edmundo Torres and Marcelo Yshikawa.
  • Jannis Walter and Philipp Lindauer gave King a 3-0 lead with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles over Jose Gomez and Alejandro de la Torre.
  • In singles play, Keswani took a 6-2, 6-4 win over Araujo at the second flight and Walter followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over de la Torre at No. 4 singles.
  • Lindauer earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Yshikawa at the fifth flight before Delgado capped the 7-2 victory.
  • At No. 3 singles, Gomez took a close first set from Delgado 7-6 (7-5), but Delgado responded by taking the next two sets 6-1 and 6-1 for the win.

UP NEXT

  • The Tornado will be in action again on April 29 at the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Sumter, S.C. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
  • North Greenville closes the regular season with matches on Friday against Pfeiffer University and Saturday at Erskine College.
