ECAC Wrestlers of the Month - January 2016

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Bryce Killian is in the middle of what might be his best season in the scarlet and navy, and the King University men's wrestler can add a first to his list of accomplishments this year. The junior was selected Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Wrestler of the Month, becoming the first Tornado grappler to earn that distinction.

Killian had a stellar month of January, winning all eight of his matches, which resulted in him moving up the national rankings. The Middletown, Pa., native pushed his winning streak to 10 matches, moving him up to a ranking of third at 141 pounds in the latest Division II Wrestling Coaches' Poll. On the season he is 25-4 and he set the school record for technical falls in a season as he is 8-0. Killian is also ranked first in the Super Region II Coaches Poll at 141 pounds.

In January he took three wins at the Coker Duals, setting the technical fall record with a 20-5 technical fall win over Marvin Galette of Spartanburg Methodist College. He capped the month with three wins at the Super Region II Duals over the weekend, starting with a 4-2 victory over Curtis Harris of Coker College. He then defeated Robert Mason of Ashland University on a major decision 9-0 before finishing the month with a 3-1 decision over Tiffin University's Travis Salyer.

Killian and the Tornado are in action again Thursday night when they travel to take on Belmont Abbey College. The dual is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
