Tornado drop dual to conference-leading Erskine

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team took on one of the top teams in Conference Carolinas on Saturday at home, Erskine College, and the Flying Fleet proved why they are atop the league standings. Erskine took the 9-0 to stay undefeated in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Flying Fleet gained a 3-0 lead, taking all three doubles matches.
  • Marianne Hull and Haley Maloney dropped an 8-2 decision to Miranda Guthrie and Mikaela Bennett at No. 2 doubles.
  • In singles play, Hull faced Paola Gullino at the second flight, falling 6-4, 6-2.

UP NEXT

  • King takes on Michigan Tech University on March 7 in Hilton Head, S.C. The Tornado then face Clarion University on March 8.
  • The Flying Fleet host Newberry College Monday.
